Refractory Lining Removal Solution for Major Refinery Shutdown

RGL played a critical role in a major refinery shutdown, performing multiple precision and scrap cuts, a remotely operated reactor decoke, and refractory removal operations.
Bespoke tracks were manufactured for all precision cuts, and two hydraulic hose feed boxes were designed and built to facilitate the reactor decoke process.
Six dedicated teams, working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensured all assigned tasks were completed safely, on schedule, and to the client's specifications.

Water supply and disposal presented significant challenges for the client. RGL was tasked with containment and wastewater recycling throughout the project. Two 70m³ water tanks and two filtration and dosing systems, each capable of recycling 30,000 litres of water per hour, were installed. Wastewater was collected at each work site and pumped 150 meters to the recycling system, and stored for reuse.
Over the three-week project, a total of 140m³ of water was used and recycled. Upon completion, the water was treated, tested, and safely discharged into the site's drainage system.
The client praised RGL's innovative water management and seamless execution, contributing to the shutdown's overall success and environmental compliance.
