POSITION: Trainee Jetting Operator

REPORTS TO: Team Leader/Acting Team Leader

FUNCTION: Contracts

LOCATION: Site-based

SALARY: £14.42 per hour

HOURS: 47.5 hours a week to suit site times and may include weekends or night shifts

PURPOSE STATEMENT

To support the Jetting Teams in ensuring that contracts are fulfilled on site safely, efficiently, and effectively, and that agreed procedures and reporting requirements are adhered to.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

NB. Site accountabilities are as directed by the relevant Team Leader and may vary from site to site and may include:

  • Loading and unloading the company vans
  • Setting up the jetting and ancillary equipment
  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards and ensuring that all areas under RGL control are kept clean and tidy
  • Performing jetting operations to the schedule set by the Team Leader
  • Site administration: daily checks, daily diaries, time sheets, site diaries, etc., as directed by the Team Leader
  • Demobilising the site, ensuring that the site is left clean and tidy, and all equipment is checked back into the van
  • Keeping the van clean and tidy and ensuring that the agreed levels of PPE are maintained, and informing the Team Leader if stocks are running low
  • Act as the envoy for RGL. Maintain a smart appearance, be polite in dealings with the client/client's staff, and ensure that the RGL brand in represented in the highest possible manner
  • To take part in other job-relevant company activities as directed by the Team Leader, Contracts Supervisors, or Directors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CONTEXT

Starting as a trainee and initially based at our premises in Ower, near Romsey, the successful candidate will be on a steep learning curve to enable them to join and work as part of a site team working throughout the UK and beyond.

Once sufficiently trained and qualified, they will assist in ensuring that jetting works are fulfilled safely, efficiently, and that agreed-upon procedures and reporting requirements are adhered to.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • An infectious “Can Do” attitude
  • Able and willing to work away from home
  • Able and willing to work in a range of diverse and sometimes dirty environments
  • Able and willing to work multiple shift patterns, including weekends and nights
  • Mechanically minded with experience of using basic engineering tools and equipment
  • Full clean driving licence is essential

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Vans are loaded and unloaded safely and effectively
  • Sites are safely, efficiently, and effectively set up, and jetting operations commence with the minimum of delay
  • The site is kept clean, tidy, and orderly
  • When jetting, ensure that Jetting Operations are carried out efficiently and safely
  • All requested administrative tasks are carried out accurately and completed in full
  • Demobilisation takes place safely and efficiently with orderly loading of vans, minimising the risk of equipment being left behind. Sites are left clean and tidy
  • No delays due to shortage of consumables, standard equipment, or standard tools
  • All clients are pleased with the service they have received from RGL and would be glad to have the team back next time
  • The RGL brand is promoted by the Jetting Teams through a disciplined approach to work, smart appearance, and appropriate behaviour
