Technical Officer (Fitter)

Due to ongoing success the company is actively seeking an additional Technical Officer to join a busy workshop team based near Romsey in the South of England.

POSITION: Technical Officer (Fitter)
SALARY: Available on request and depending on experience

HOURS:8.00 to 13.00 and 13.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday (overtime available)
LOCATION: Romsey, SO51 6AL

The Role (not limited to)

  • To play a key role in the workshop to ensure that plant, machinery, and equipment is maintained, serviced, repaired and issued in line with policies and procedures.
  • To take part in Jetting operations as and when required
  • Follow workshop procedures and play a part in ensuring that the workshops and yard are kept clean and orderly and that walkways are always kept clear.
  • Place incoming goods into the store and administrate the KanBan process accordingly.
  • Support the jetting teams on breakdowns and or deliveries as well as being on the duty technical support rota.

Ideal Candidate

  • At least 3years’ experience gained in a similar workshop environment.
  • Skilled and experienced in working with a wide range of diesel engine plant and general workshop practices.
  • A good understanding of electrical wiring particularly automotive and an ability to read and understand /wiring diagrams.
  • A strong and infectious “can do” attitude coupled with a desire to stick to deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Able to diagnose faults through logical and systemic reasoning.
  • A full, clean driving licence is essential preferably with the ability to tow.

Contracts Supervisor

Due to ongoing success, the company is actively seeking an additional Contracts Supervisor to join a busy estimating team based near Romsey in the South of England.

POSITION: Contracts Supervisor
SALARY: Available on request and depending on experience

HOURS:8.00 to 13.00 and 13.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday (overtime available)
LOCATION: Romsey, SO51 6AL

The main thrust of the role is to coordinate the onsite activity of our jetting teams from writing the RAMS to preparing the invoice and everything in between.

There is a huge amount of variety in the role as we, as sub-contractors, work all over the UK and in a diverse array of working environments.

The role would suit someone from a construction background who was looking to take a step towards management and gain experience in all directions. As a guide, we are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • A good understanding and practical experience of working on industrial and/or construction sites.
  • A practical ability to understand the job to be done and specify the requirements to fulfil it
  • A good set of people skills which enables leadership of site teams
  • A strong and infectious “can do” attitude
  • A full, clean driving licence
