Underwater Abrasive Jet Cutting

Our Jetnife™ system operates just as well underwater as above. Cutting equipment can be lowered into position using winches and secured with either clamps or magnets. In some cases divers may be required at this stage.

Applications include:

• Nuclear Decommissioning
• Sub Sea Salvage
• Pile Cutting on Jetties and Marine Terminals
• Cutting into Tanks in Waste Water Treatment Works

A high level of accuracy is achievable and so it is an ideal, safer alternative to using divers with Broco type hot cutting equipment. This system has the ability to cut any material quickly and safely.

As we use such Ultra High Pressure (Up to 3000bar) cutting speeds remain comparable to cutting in air.

The abrasive component we usually use is an inert mined rock which is environmentally friendly and does not pollute.

In addition to cutting we are also able to prepare surfaces for recoating using UHP Hydroblasting underwater. Rust Scale, Marine Growth and Old Coatings are quickly and easily removed and the waste captured if required. More
