Remote Control Tank Cleaning

As any producer of chemical products will be aware the problems caused by build up of contamination on Vessel Sides, Agitator Shafts and Blade Surfaces can be a major one. Product build up results in both commercial inefficiencies and the risk of downstream contamination. This build up can also result in mixing equipment becoming difficult, if not impossible, to service or repair. Damage to components can occur when the disassembly of contaminated shafts and bearing housings is attempted.

RGL are able to clean tanks and vessels from outside without the need to send operatives into these confined spaces. This offers a huge risk reduction to this previously High Hazard Task. Regularly cleaned and maintained vessels result in faster batch runs, lower plant operating costs, less downtime due to downstream contamination and thus greatly improved productivity.

How do we do it?

Remote Control 3 Dimensional Cleaning

Our High Pressure (up to 1500bar) water tank cleaning heads rotate on two axis, thereby reaching all areas within the vessel. Our advanced nozzle positioning technology ensures that the water jet is focused therefore becoming the most effective cleaning and cutting tool. The equipment is deployed into the vessel through existing access ways or flanged nozzles.

This system cleans all areas of the Vessel, even around shafts and seal/bearing housings. Other features and benefits include:

• The cyclic action ensures the water jets hit every part of the internal surface
• Speed of rotation and position of nozzle are adjustable
• Product removal from behind Baffles
• Positioning systems are used to access the shadow areas where possible
• Coils and Paddles can be perfectly cleaned
• No need to gas free the vessel
• No need to remove Mixer Paddles, Shafts or Agitators

Some tasks we have completed;

• Rubber and other similar products can be removed from Cooling Coils
• Nozzle may be positioned at bottom of vessel to remove product from drain point
• Solid Polyester Resin Removal from vessel with mixer and heating coils
• Paint removal

Gas Tight Systems

In some situations it is critical that gases from inside the vessel are contained, either due to the risk of explosion or because the gasses may be hazardous to health.

We are now able to offer Reactor cleaning systems that are certified to ATEX 2T3 standards. Further more our Water Jetting Units are fitted with Spark Arresters and Chalwyn Valves making them safe to use in Chemical Plants and other hazardous environments.

We have an impressive success record having achieved perfect results in previously un-cleanable vessels.
