Surface Preparation and Cleaning
RGL operate throughout the UK and have the experience and equipment to offer the service of Hydroblasting to remove coatings
and corrosion.
High Pressure water with or without abrasive additives can remove paint and other coatings from almost any
surface without damage to the underlying facade and without generating heat or dust.
The abrasive component we usually use is an inert rock which is environmentally friendly and does not pollute.
We have the ability to capture waste water and recycle it, removing all contaminants thus offering
the most environmentally friendly approach.
Here at RGL we are always developing and improving our equipment to meet the demands of our
customers. One major item that has evolved is the UHP “Limpet Crawler”. This surface preparation device clings to tanks
and vessels by a vacuum and can then be controlled remotely to cover the whole surface much more quickly
and with much more efficiency than operatives working with hand held lances on a scaffold or from
an access platform. The vacuum used to secure the Limpet also removes all the water, dust and debris
leaving the tank or vessel clean and ready to be recoated.
We have dealt with many specialised coatings and situations over the years and have been able to
provide cost effective solutions to them all. Whether it is the cleaning of rust or corrosion from
steel, the removal of a lining from within a storage tank or vessel or the preparation of surfaces
such as concrete for new layers to be applied, there is no situation that cannot be handled by
high pressure water.
RGL have extensive experience in the reapplication of coatings in maintenance and repair situations.
We are active members of the Institute of Corrosion and the Water Jetting Association ensuring we
keep up to date with the latest developments and issues involving surface preparation, safe working
practices and health and safety legislation.
We can operate 7 days a week with day, night or 24 hour shifts if required.
