Paint,Surface Coating and
Tank Lining Removal
Whether using remote controlled equipment or confined space entry RGL are able remove and prepare any
surface within a vessel or tank.
Due to issues with product manufacture or simply over time the protective coatings that line tanks can
become damaged or eroded and need to be replaced. In other situations the material of the tank itself can be
affected and the lining needs to be removed to allow for inspection and possible repair before the
new lining is applied.
In either case RGL have the solutions.
Our robot controlled coating removal machines mean that tanks that were previously inaccessible to an
operative can now be worked in safely. In addition to the increased safety of remote control our systems
have built in vacuum waste recovery option, so all contaminants can be contained, making the job both quicker and
easier, whilst saving money.
By using RGL UHP “Limpet Crawler” technology we can achieve perfect results without creating dust or debris. For certain
tanks, where access is good and there are no toxins in the environment, man entry may still prove the most
effective method of surface preparation. In these instances RGL will use one of its Confined Space Entry
trained jetting teams to get the job done.
We are active members of the Institute of Corrosion and the Water Jetting Association ensuring we keep up
to date with the latest developments and issues involving surface preparation, safe working practices and
health and safety legislation.
